Mi biografía

I was born in the city of Valparaiso, Chile, where I studied at the Universidad de Playa Ancha de Ciencias de la Educación. I taught English as a foreign Language, while finishing my thesis in 1999. I graduated as a teacher of English as a foreign language in early 2000, and then came to the United States to immerse myself in the English language and culture so that I could be a better teacher in Chile. While visiting this country, I met my husband and decided to stay. I went through the process of validation of my foreign credentials and teacher certification which led me to take various exams and courses, including graduate courses at SCSU. During this time, I started to work in education as bilingual and English Language Learner programs. I have worked as a translator of documents, as an interpreter for Hispanic families in schools, and eventually resumed my career as a full time classroom teacher.

Languages and their culture have always been a passion of mine. I couldn't be happier teaching my native language and my culture. Currently, in addition to working as a Spanish teacher at Lewis S. Mills High School, I am a mother of two girls (eleven and five) and wife to a full-time web developer. I have always enjoyed challenges and think it is important to grow as a professional. I am also a UCONN certified teacher.
